Encouraging children to be curious, creative and use their imaginations can help them develop important problem-solving skills and think outside the box. It can also help them develop a sense of wonder and curiosity about the world around them.

Storytelling and play is so important in helping children develop language skills, empathy, and understanding of different perspectives and learning how to interact with others. It can also help them develop their own sense of identity and values while enhancing their physical, emotional, and social development. It helps them develop important motor skills, learn how to interact with others, and develop their own sense of creativity and imagination.

By introducing children to books that encourage creativity, imagination, storytelling, and play, we can help them develop important skills and values that will serve them well throughout their lives as they explore new ideas and worlds.

For ideas on how we can foster creative and curious humans, see the We are Curious Imaginative and Playful range.

Where do we start!? I wanted to create a space that celebrates love of self and others, our identities, and the beautiful diversity of our community. This range of books celebrates us. All of us.

When children (and adults) learn about diversity and inclusion, they are more likely to develop empathy and understanding for people who are different from them. This can help them build stronger relationships with people from all walks of life and become more accepting of others.

Learning about gender, sexuality, and diversity can help children develop empathy and understanding for people who may have different experiences than their own, enabling them to become more compassionate and caring individuals.

Importantly, by introducing children to books that feature diverse characters and explore these themes, we can help them see themselves and others represented in literature. This supports the development of a sense of pride and self-worth, and understanding of how to create safe and inclusive spaces for themselves and others, leading to increased confidence and resilience to navigate the world.

To see just how beautifully diverse we are, see the 'We are Diverse and Inclusive' range.

From a development perspective, learning about relationships can help children develop important social skills, such as communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution. This can help them build stronger relationships with their peers, family members, and other important people in their lives.

Socially, children who learn about different types of families are more likely to develop acceptance and understanding for families that may be different from their own, garnering friendships with people from all walks of life and become more accepting of others. By introducing children to books that feature diverse families, we can help them see themselves and their families represented in literature, giving them a sense of pride and self-worth.

Teaching the concept of self-love, confidence and resilience to children is important because it helps them develop a positive self-image and a healthy sense of self-worth, and builds resilience and self-confidence. Additionally, when children learn to love themselves, they are more likely to grow into happy, healthy and well-adjusted adults and treat others with kindness and respect.

We have a beautiful range of books celebrating love of self and families in all of their forms.

Children who learn about the environment from a young age are more likely to develop an awareness of the impact that humans have on the planet. This can help them become more environmentally conscious and make choices that help them develop a sense of responsibility for the planet and a desire to protect it.

By teaching children about climate change and environmental issues, we can also inspire hope and a sense of possibility. Children who understand the challenges facing the planet can also be empowered to take action and make a positive difference.

What's more, learning about the environment, sustainability, recycling and climate can actually be fun! Find out how fun it can be browsing Our Earth and Environment range.
