About Us
Monty and the Worm is made up of myself, Louise, and my loving support crew of husband Paul and daughter Dotti. I live on Wurundjeri Country, in Melbourne's north and was inspired to create this online bookstore following the birth of Dotti in September 2022. After Dotti was born, I was acutely aware that I was somewhat ill-equipped to have some really important conversations about the world that Dotti will grow up in.
I knew that I was passionate about diversity and inclusion; love of family, friends and self; enjoying and protecting our earth and environment; and having fun through creativity and play. So the idea was born to create a place where people can come for books to support healthy conversations with those we love the most.
I believe that literature, through words and illustrations, has the power to bring people together, to inspire and to spark important conversations about the world in which we live. It is my hope that this bookstore contributes to the creation of welcoming and inclusive environments within our communities, where everyone feels comfortable exploring new ideas and discovering new stories.
By focusing on books that explore key themes of diversity and inclusion; love, identity and self; environment and climate; and inspire creativity and play.
I hope to create a community of readers who are passionate about making the world a better place.

Who is Monty?
Monty is the inspiration behind Monty and The Worm.
Joining Louise and Paul's family in early 2021, Monty provided wonderful companionship throughout Melbourne's lockdowns and while Louise and Paul worked from home (which continues to this day). Playing with pens, sitting on, sleeping on, and playing with books are just some of his favourite pastimes.
Monty became a big brother in September 2022 - a role that he takes very seriously.
